This virtual workshop for teachers will be facilitated by Sophia Mirzayee, a first generation Afghan-Canadian with a BA in Human Rights and an MA in Education, and Kenra Mroz, educator at Sir Robert Borden High School and a graduate of the International School for Holocaust Studies at Yad Vashem's seminar program for Holocaust educators.

The workshop will be based on the testimonies of Ottawa area Holocaust survivors recorded by CHES in 2016: https://chesatottawa.ca/ottawa-holocaust-survivors-testimonials-full-length/. The proposed program will provide readily-available and accessible resources and will promote an understanding of current issues involving discrimination, racism, and antisemitism, and encourage equity and diversity in schools and in our global community.

This workshop has been made possible through the generosity of the Congregation Beth Shalom Legacy Fund Committee.
