Esteemed Israeli analyst Yossi Alpher will speak about the failures of past peace-making efforts and what can be done to prevent a very bad situation from getting worse. An independent commentator, Alpher has written widely on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He has served in the IDF as an intelligence officer and in the Mossad. He has been director of the Jaffee Center for Strategic Studies (JCSS) at Tel Aviv University and director of the American Jewish Committee's Israel/Middle East Office in Jerusalem. He co-founded and co-edited bitterlemons.net, an online Israel-Palestinian dialogue project. He has also served as special adviser to the Prime Minister of Israel and to the Union for Reform Judaism on peace and co-existence issues. Q & A after presentation. No charge. Donations welcome.
