Temple Israel is proud to announce the debut appearance of DUO PIANISTICO as part of its Bercovitch Recital Series on Sunday, December 4, 2016, at 2:00PM. Temple Israel is located at 1301 Prince of Wales Drive, Ottawa, Ontario.
DUO PIANISTICO is local pianists DINA NAMER and ROBERT DVORKIN, who recently decided to collaborate and present some of the most beloved works in the two-piano repertoire.

Originally from New York, DINA NAMER has made her home in Ottawa for many years, and has long since established herself as one of Canada’s leading pianists. Her teachers included Robert Goldsand, Artur Balsam, and Menahem Pressler. An active performer and teacher, Ms. Namer has collaborated with many of the world’s greatest instrumentalists. She frequently appears in Festival Music and Beyond, the Ottawa International Chamber Music Festival, and the Minnesota Festival of the Lakes. Ms. Namer teaches Piano Performance and Chamber Music at Queen’s University in Kingston, as well as maintaining a private teaching studio in Ottawa.

ROBERT DVORKIN is a recent transplant to Ottawa from New York City. He was born and raised in Edmonton. He graduated from the Indiana University School of Music with Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in Piano Performance, where he studied with Enrica Cavallo. Mr. Dvorkin resided in New York City for many years, where he performed and taught. Recent appearances include performances in Ottawa, Kitchener, Montreal, and New York. Mr. Dvorkin is planning a series of concerts in 2018 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Debussy’s death. He maintains a private teaching studio in Ottawa, where he specializes in teaching the Taubman Approach. For more information please visit www.robertdvorkin.com.

DUO PIANISTICO will be performing the works of Debussy, Mozart, Brahms, and Milhaud at their debut concert. The concert is dedicated to the memory of Nancy Bercovitch, who founded the recital series.
