Have you heard what all the ladies are talking about? A fashion show, great models, party sandwiches, squares and tea! It’s happening at Hillel Lodge, on Sunday, October 30, 2 pm, where the Auxiliary of Hillel Lodge has been busy planning a wonderful afternoon for residents and supporters of the Lodge.
Under the leadership of Auxiliary President Ruth Tal, the annual tea is co-chaired by Fran Ross and Corinne Taylor. The theme of this year’s fundraising campaign is “Give our Residents a Lift.” The bulk of the proceeds will be used to purchase two bed lifts which assist in transferring residents between their beds and wheel chairs, eliminating the stress of being lifted by hand. The Auxiliary is very happy with the response of the community and the outpouring of support for residents. If you have not been contacted, you are encouraged to call Treasurer Carolyn Katz at 613-820-6644 and she will handle your much needed and appreciated donation.
The afternoon of October 30th will be a lot of fun, starting with the opportunity to purchase a 50/50 draw, followed by a fashion show hosted by Shepherd’s. Auxiliary members will transform into models to delight residents and guests with the latest styles and accessories selected by Shepherd’s and available at their store. There may even be an opportunity to purchase some estate jewelry at discount prices.
Thanks to York Street Spa, the models’ hair will be coiffed by senior stylist Kenneth Malone, assisted by Kent Molson. Make-up will be applied by Jeni Eaton, spa manager, and a 60 minute massage will be given away as a door prize.
Our invitations, posters and flyers, were designed by Carolina Walesiak of Design Associates.
The Auxiliary of Hillel Lodge is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for Lodge residents. This is done though a variety of in-house programs including flowers at each table on Fridays, special foods and often entertainment for Sukkot, Chanukah, Purim, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. Auxiliary Members give of their time and energy and are there to serve festive meals and to make holidays and birthdays more ‘freilach’ with singing and dancing.
The annual Hillel Lodge Tea is a much anticipated social event for residents, their families, friends and supporters of the Lodge giving the community an opportunity to express their affection for “fathers and mothers” (beyond and including our own) who live at the Lodge and who are so deserving of our support.
Mark your agendas for October 30 and join us for a most enjoyable afternoon.
