(July 31, 2015) – Minister of Employment and Social Development Pierre Poilievre was at the Soloway Jewish Community Centre (SJCC) today to announce a grant of $120,000 to the SJCC toward the replacement of the centre’s indoor pool dehumidification system.
The grant was awarded under the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program celebrating the 150th anniversary of Canadian confederation in 2017.
“Our government, through the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program, is demonstrating its continued support for families and communities across the country. I’m pleased that our contribution will assist with repairs at the Soloway Jewish Community Centre so that our youth, seniors and families will have a safe place to learn, play and socialize,” Poilievre said in a statement.
Barry Sohn, SJCC president and chief operating officer, estimates the entire cost of the indoor pool dehumidification system replacement will be in the range of $250,000 to $280,000.
